Mom Truths That Will Make Your Day
Have you ever heard a fellow mom say something about motherhood that made you think, Ohmygosh, yes, that is sooo true. Or maybe you were scrolling through Instagram and read something about motherhood that caught your attention 110% (a hard feat to achieve now that you've got little feet, perhaps a herd of them, stamping loudly through the house).
I love coming across these so-called Mom Truths. They make me feel seen, they offer me clarity and insight, and they make me feel part of something bigger. Which is important because, as much as motherhood is a wonderful gift, it's also really freaking hard.
I'm sharing some of my favorite Mom Truths with you today in the hopes that they make you laugh but also think, Mmm hhmmm, I never thought of it that way, but this is so illuminating.
Mom Truths
1.) "Stay-at-Home Moms" should actually be called "Go-Everywhere, Do-Everything Moms"
2.) Nobody can prepare you for the transition from "Mama" to "Mommy" to "Mom"
3.) "Maternity Leave" is not "Time Off"
4.) You’re finding parenting hard because it is. That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
5.) The mama who picks up her screaming child and calmly walks to her car is my hero.
6.) You know you’re a MOM when grocery shopping alone is both “special me time” & "a break."
7.) If Stay-at-Home Moms (and Dads) were to get paid, their annual salary would be $179,201.
8.) Though mamas hold boundaries to guide our children, we also love our children without boundaries.
9.) Motherhood is the greatest thing… & the hardest thing. Motherhood is a delicate balance between holding on and letting go.
10.) Fact: Being a mama is the equivalent of working 2.5 full-time jobs.
11.) When I became a mother, it was then that I knew what was in my mother's heart.
12.) You know you're a mama when "sleeping in" means waking up at 6:59am.
